........ because I need another hobby. Yeah right! Hot off my needles is this little vest for my cousin's wee man. I was determined to learn to knit 'in the round' as sewing up knitting is to me a little like having teeth pulled. With the help of a friend who knows what she's doing, this has only taken a couple of evenings to do(only a size 6 months though.) I think it still needs blocked - whatever that is - I don't remember that term from the last time I knitted years ago - but hopefully that will help it sit a little flatter. I'd better go and visit youtube, a great place for demonstrating knitting techniques.

Lastly some pics from Sunday afternoon, I took Kelly and the girls down to the river nearby, and we had some fun at the waters edge. Kelly loves the creeks and duck ponds at home, and loves to splash about and get us all wet, but she was a bit unsure of this swift water and stayed close to the edge. A lovely way to spend an hour on a fine autumn day.
Till next time ....................... take care and have fun .......................Nicky

beautiful scenery
That's a very cute vest! And the creek looks like it is moving fairly fast, I think Kelly had the rite idea!
Happy stitching, Michelle.
Beautiful scenery! Great job on the vest! That's awesome! Love the yarn you've used.
What a gorgeous little vest, well done!!
Absolutely beautiful part of the world that you live in Nicky..
What a cute little vest!
The river does look like it's moving pretty fast, how high does it get in the winter?
What a cute vest! Love the yarn. That was pretty speedy work for a first try in the round. But it is great to eliminate the seams, isn't it.
Lovely photos too.
You sure are multi-talented, Nicky :) The little boy will look mighty dapper in your wonderful vest...
I never tire of seeing the NZ landscape photos--keep posting them :)

Uh oh Nicky, you'll soon be addicted lol! Your little vest is lovely, and I learnt how to knit in the round from this exact project too. Have you checked out some of Tikki's other patterns, she has gorgeous knits for girls! lol.
wonderful job......you always need a new hobby..
Great job on the vest! My daughter knows how to knit and just discovered Ravelry. She loves it.
Great pics!
It looks fab! I just can't knit in the round :0( I think I need someone to show me.
Blocking basically means you should like the vest flat on a towel, pin it in place and spray it with water. Leave to dry and then remove the pins and it will be flat and the rows will be even (providing you pinned it like that of course!!)
Hello Nicky,
The little vest looks so sweet. Thank you for the lovely green photo's with water. Nothing like that here.
Happy days.
Bev.xoxo
