Chilly days

Greetings!  It's been a slow week here, the girls have had a couple of days off school while we were snowed in.  We've also had no landline phones in the whole distirct for the last couple of days so it's been very quiet, not sure if that is snow related or not but I hope they fix it soon, as we don't get mobile reception here either.  We've just been crossing our fingers there would be no emergencies!  Last day of school today, so we're all ready for a couple of weeks break.
Not much relaxing in this chair this week.......
And we've all been having fun in the snow ..............

I have finished the long-lost bag for my friend, I hope she'll feel the wait was worth it. lol    One more thing to cross off my WIP list!  I've also pieced the little charm pack quilt I showed last time, and started piecing the back for my niece's Abracadabra quilt in Bliss fabrics.
Angel Pin Carry Bag - Rosalie Quinlan Designs, from Homespun # 21

Finally thanks for the comments on my last post about the Silver Ferns sadly losing the netball World Champs final.  I can tell some of you (Kiwis) are feeling my pain. lol  When our eldest bought home this gift on Monday from her cousin/best friend who has just been on holiday to Australia, I couldn't stop laughing!  So appropriate, a kangaroo with boxing gloves on ready to give someone a hiding. LOL   I love it!

I have a little something in mind for Chookyblue but she might regret saying there's no hurry......... that's a dangerous thing to say to me.

Hope you're having a great week, take care ........................ Nicky

What a joy to run across photos of snow! It has been unbearably hot here in the US (Georgia) for two months. Just the sight of some snow had a cooling effect!

The finished bag looks gorgeous Nicky. Wow it looks cold at your place, we aren't so cold but it sure is wet!! Keep warm.

OK, I am so not going to complain about how cold it was here today after seeing your snowy photos. It must be twice as cold down there.

Hope you stay warm and have a good weekend!

Good to see all is well even with your phone problems- i was hoping for a snow day up here today but alas it has passed us by again-all we got was the bitterly cold temperature- a nice finish with the bag and what great timing with the souvenir (not!)

Always seems so strange to see that snow when we have just come out of a string of super hot days. We're getting a little break for a couple of days before the temps go back up.

Your bag looks pretty. And this is great weather to sit and stitch! Have a great weekend and hope your phone works again soon.

Oh, that is one gorgeous bag, Nicky!! I absolutely love the pretty, muted shades in it--great job :)

It always seems odd to me to see that you get snow--for some reason I always think of NZ as being constantly warm. Do you get four distinct seasons with leaves that change color, too? I hope the girls have a great break from school and that things warm up very soon...

Wow, Nicky, you even have snow! Yes, in Brisbane it's +19 degrees (nice winter comparing with -30 in Moscow, Russia :))
The bag is so beautiful! I'm sure it would be treasured!

Hugs,
Tatyana

wow the snow looks great, living on the eastern coast of Australia we get plenty of rain, but never snow.....

it looks so beautiful and soo much fun

Gosh here in Northland we haven't even had a frost yet...just plenty of rain... hope the snow isn't causing too many hassles on the farm?..it makes for good photos and looks like lots of fun. Our daughter went up Ruapehu in the weekend and had a great time - but nothing like having it on your own doorstep! The bag you have just finished is gorgeous!!

How fun to see winter pics in the midst of a dreary Irish summer. Everything looks so fresh! Wonderful job on the bag.

I love snow!! Call me stupid but I didn't think it snowed in NZ.
Enjoy it while it lasts... hopefully not to long as it does get in the way of work.
Congrats on the bag finish too... it's lovely. You friend will love it.
