I'm still here ............

......... so it seems they haven't carted me off yet - lol.  It's heartening to hear there are so many others out there just like me!  Starting too much and finishing even less - thank goodness for OPAM and Sew It's Finished.

We've had a busy couple of weeks here on the farm, so not  much stitching or blogging happening lately.  I have signed up for Friday Night Sew In for the 18th, hosted by Heidi and Bobbi.  If you want to join in head on over here.

I had a FNSI of my own last night, and made this wee pencil roll for a little friends 9th birthday party my youngest is attending today.  I changed my design slightly from last years effort, and added velcro so the top flap will fold over before rolling it up.  Next time, I'm going to try an elastic loop and a button, less fiddly than tying the bow for little fingers maybe.  Woohoo a project started and finished on the same night ...... and ............I even used fabric I had on hand.  If you can't find me later I'll be off shining my halo.

But........to offset that good behaviour, I have made a couple of online purchases lately including this fabulous book ......it really is a beauty .......and I have some of Camille's gorgeous Bliss on the way - I couldn't resist any longer. There are lots of people out there tempting me with beautiful pictures of Bliss fabric and projects.  Thanks Michelle and Suzi and others.   :-)

Well then, I'm off to spend the rest of the afternoon with my sewing machine, planning to piece the shoo fly blocks for the first Vignette block and get some more done on my latest Gardener's Journal block.
Thanks for visiting today.......till next time happy stitching ................... Nicky

Well Miss Nicky, when they do cart you off you'll find me there too. Like you I have too many starts and not enough at the other end. Just imagine how boring it would be if we didn't have UFO's, they are so good for the ego once you get back to them and get them completed, little cloth 'uppers'.
hugs

Oh well Nicky as Miche'le says you won't be alone if you get carted off.lol.
Love the look of that book, oh dear I feel a trip to Fishpond coming on and maybe a purchase also. Thanks for the encouragement-I don't need much really.

That book is one of my favourites...Camille has such a wonderful eye for colour, and her red polkadot sofa is to die for LOL! You won't be disappointed with Bliss...it is DIVINE in real life! I'm making one of the quilts in the book with my jelly roll...it seemed appropriate :) What are you going to make with yours?

Oh, I love that pencil roll, Nicky! How I would have loved something like that when I was younger--I had a thing for colored pencils (even though I can't draw a stick figure!)... Great job :)

What a great gift that pencil roll is!!! It came out wonderful and even better - it came from stash!!

Glad your Bliss fabric is on the way!! It's great fabric. I worked on mine a little bit yesterday. It makes you smile to work with it.

He he, so you think I am trying to lead you astray,(and you are probably right)but I am absolutely positive when your parcel of 'Bliss' arrives you'll wonder what took you sew long to get some!
Brilliant idea to fold over the flap on the pencil roll and as for the book well now I think you are trying to lead me astray...

Yes. it's a great book isn't it. I was flicking through my copy just this morning! Enjoy your Bliss, it's the yummiest fabric. I found it very hard to cut into mine lol

Lovely pencil roll! I too have been coverting Bliss for ages, but it's really hard to find over here! I finally tracked down a layer cake that's on it's way to me, but I don't think it will be enough!!
