Making a list and checking it twice

Well, its finally done, I've hauled out bags, baskets and shoeboxes from all over the house and had a good sort out.  I've ended up with only three things to give away, one finished cross stitch and two half finished ones which will find new homes soon.

My list is on a separate page - see above - a total of 30 things.  Not great, but I think in my mind I was expecting there to be a lot more.   It feels less overwhelming already, just to have them written down!

Among the cross stitch to be framed or finished into something I found this wee beauty.  You'd think with pansies being my favourite flower and all, that I would have finished this up ten years ago when I finished stitching it...... but never mind, it's been discovered again, so the chances are improving.

I've put a few stitches today into my Fruit & Floral Wreath I, which is definitely a looooong term project, it has so many stitches in ones and twos all over the place, but I do still love it, and I guess its about 1/4 done.  I remember now why I put it away in the first place, a lot of time spent stitching, with not a lot to show for it.

Priorities for January are:
1. Finish SRTB piece for Raewyn
2. Finish another A Gardeners Journal Block
3. Make up In My Garden Needleroll

That should do for now, anything else will be a bonus!  I'm going to head on over to the Sew Its Finished blog later and post my list there.

Thanks for stopping by...........take care,   Nicky

I just love your pansies but I really admire the fact that you went through all your hidey holes. I'm too scared and probably too embarassed to haul out everything that needs finishing.
Have a great year.

Your pansies are beautiful! You should definitely aim to finish them up. The colours are stunning.

What a great idea to pull out your WIPs and list them. I am going to make an effort to do the same and see just exactly how many WIP/UFOs I have languishing about the place (and maybe even work on some)! :-) Maybe it won't be as bad as I think?? lol

Gorgeous Pansies! What is the pattern?? I love that you only have 3 projects on your goals list for the month. That's very doable. Can't wait to see your progress!

Thankyou for your lovely comments on my blog!!
Yes you are right, it is easy to put my quilt tops on the back of the queue while I do quilt customers tops, but it is a nice feeling to get a few loose ends tidied up.
Have you been enjoying the Stitching round the Block? I see you are in Raewyn's group, I have probably seen yours at some point at the favourite quilt shop we hang out at!

Wow - you have been busy! After I looked at your blog I had to get into my sewing cupboard and sort it out too! I found a few projects I had on the go too and I hope to get them finished soon - as long as I don't start too many new ones that is! It's great to have a clean out and get everything sorted. I feel much more organised now.

Oh I love those little pansies. That was my first cross stitch ever... many years ago and is still one of my favourites. I have so many that still need to be framed too. Perhaps I need to set some goals too!

The pansies are beautiful! Every time I write out a list of my WIPs, I forget about three or five off the list. Good for you for being brave and hunting them all down!
